MERRY CHRISTMAS!

So, according to the lunar calendar, today is December 25th which means this isn't technically late...right??

In Korea, Christmas is much more a church family holiday and couple holiday than the family holiday it tends to be in the United States. Who would have thought: lock-ins, retreats, and dates? I never would have guessed. Anyway, we celebrated Christmas Eve with one of our new families, the Hannam University Church college student group. It was as night full of food, fellowship, and fun. We did skits, sang songs, and played games. It was just great!

group 2!

We ate lunch to celebrate Christmas and Haejung 이모 and Uncle Simon's return.

We also ate chestnuts [like the kind roasted on the open fire in that Christmas song]!

and...it was a white Christmas [like that other Christmas song]!

and most importantly:
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
   Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
   Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

-Isaiah 9:6

YYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just in case you are confused, we in fact celebrated Christmas on December 25th according to the Gregorian calendar, almost a month ago [wow!]
